A tour of the Church of Our Savior on the Spilt Blood, a unique church built in Russian architectural style, is absolutely different both inside and outside from other city churches. It was built in 1907 on a place where Alexander II, the most liberal Russian emperor had been murdered. It was turned into a warehouse during the World War II, was badly damaged during bomb attacks but restored to astonish us with its unique beauty. The interior of the church is richly decorated with mosaics covering 6500 sq. meters! You won't see that anywhere else - a visit is strongly recommended! Usually a tour of the Church of Our Savior on the Spilt Blood is included into the city tour or some other tour program.
