Ideas for evening activities

After a long but wonderful day in our city you might want to relax for a while. There are lots of ways to do that and we'll help you arrange your leisure time just as you want it. Here are some ideas:

- See a ballet (or opera, if you wish) performance in Mariinsky, Alexandrinsky (Alexander's) or Mikhailovsky (Michael's) theater. There's no secret, that Russian ballet is famous all over the world. The choreographic school in our city is very strong, lots of young dancers from many countries come here to study. These three theaters are the most famous and appreciated ones. Seeing a performance there might make your day (personally, I have never met anyone who would dislike a ballet performance that he/she had seen in St. Petersburg).

- See a folk-show 'Feel yourself Russian' at the Nikolaivsky Palace. The show gives you the opportunity of experiencing russian culture. Who knows, may be you will figure out the 'mysterious' russian soul? You will not only FEEL involved in the show - you will BE really involved! During two hours of this dynamic colorful and pictureous show, you will hear tuneful folk songs - romantic, and full of life, watch sparkling dances of different provinces of Russia, - and learn that some items - such as saws, wooden spoons, and other traditional household appliances, - can also be used as musical instruments! And - oh, miracle! - suddenly you will find yourself right on the stage dancing like a real Russian, playing folk games and enjoying yourself!

- Relax and enjoy having a dinner in one of the best restaurants in St. Petersburg: 'The Noble Nest' (one of the fanciest restaurants in the city), the restaurants of 'The Flying Dutchman' that looks like a ship, the panoramic restaurant 'Terrassa' is definetely worth a visit, the restaurant '1913' and others. They serve Russian, French, Italian, Japanese and other cuisines.
